- A breaker bar, used for loosening your old wheel nuts
- A torque wrench that meets your vehicle's torque requirements (typically 100 ft/lbs.)
- A corresponding socket that fits your wrench
- Lastly, you should refer to your owner’s manual to obtain the manufacturer’s specifications for torque requirements.
Once you’ve obtained these tools, your best course of action is to remove your old wheel nuts in a star-shaped pattern, which is shown in the diagrams below:
Using your breaker bar, remove each wheel nut in the numerical order shown in the diagram. Then, hand tighten your new Threadstrong wheel nut onto the stud until tight. Lastly, use your torque wrench with the appropriate socket to fully tighten and secure your wheel nut. Be sure to refer to your owner’s manual to obtain the manufacturer’s torque specifications for your vehicle. Repeat this process for all your fasteners on each wheel.
