Proper Installation and Removal Guide - Threadstrong Wheel Nuts
Install Threadstrong wheel nuts by hand and use a torque wrench for final tightening to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification. There is no single torque value for every vehicle. Confirm the correct fastener and wheel fitment, and follow the instructions supplied with your product and your vehicle’s owner’s manual.

Before you start
Threadstrong vehicle fitment information is based on original-equipment (OEM/factory) wheels. Check the product’s listed applications and specifications for your exact vehicle. If you have aftermarket wheels or are unsure about compatibility, contact Threadstrong before purchasing or installing.
Work on a firm, level surface, secure the vehicle as directed in its manual and use the specified wheel-chocking, lifting and support procedure if a wheel must be removed. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. If you cannot confirm the correct procedure, ask a qualified technician to do the work.
Tools and information to have ready
- A hand-operated breaker bar for loosening, used as directed in the vehicle procedure.
- A torque wrench suitable for the manufacturer’s specified torque and units.
- A correctly sized, unworn socket that fully engages the wheel nut.
- The vehicle’s torque specification, tightening sequence and any required recheck instructions.
Installation checks that matter
- Confirm the replacement wheel nut’s application, thread and seat requirements before removing or installing fasteners.
- Inspect the fasteners, threads and mating surfaces as directed by the vehicle manufacturer. Stop if you find damage, severe corrosion or a fitment concern.
- Start each replacement nut by hand. Do not force a nut that binds or does not engage correctly.
- Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s installation procedure and tightening sequence. Use a torque wrench for final tightening, with the specified units and value.
- Complete any torque recheck required by the manufacturer at its stated interval. Do not substitute a generic mileage interval.
Do not add oil, grease, anti-seize or a corrosion spray to threads or seating surfaces unless the exact vehicle and fastener procedure explicitly requires it. Lubrication instructions can differ by fastener design; follow the specified location and product rather than general advice.
Removal and service visits
Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s removal and support procedure. Do not treat a reversed tightening diagram as a complete removal procedure. Threadstrong recommends hand installation and removal, with final tightening to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque using a torque wrench. Impact-wrench installation can damage the product and void the one-year limited warranty.
