Choosing Black Lug Nuts for Factory Wheels
Choose black lug nuts by confirming the correct product for your vehicle and factory wheels first. Then select the finish, design and quantity you want. Color does not establish fitment.

Start with the wheels on your vehicle
Record your vehicle’s year, make, model and trim, and identify the wheels currently installed. Threadstrong’s vehicle fitment information is based on original-equipment (OEM/factory) wheels. If the wheels or studs have changed, or you cannot confirm the wheel application, contact Threadstrong before ordering or installing.
Use the year, make and model search, then read the complete product description and specifications. A vehicle name in a title is a starting point. The product’s application notes and restrictions still apply.
Compare the finish on the selected option
Black fasteners can coordinate with dark wheels or create contrast against a lighter wheel. Compare the finish and design offered for the exact option you intend to order. Lighting and screen settings affect photographs, so a product image is a visual reference rather than a guarantee of an exact color match.
Threadstrong’s capped wheel nuts use a steel base nut with a stainless steel cap. Available finishes and designs vary by product. Read about Threadstrong’s capped construction and patented designs when comparing product descriptions; “stainless steel cap” does not mean the entire nut is solid stainless steel.

Choose the quantity and contents deliberately
A small replacement pack and a full vehicle set serve different needs. Check the complete option label rather than choosing only by its price or photograph.
- Count the fasteners needed for the wheels you intend to service.
- Confirm whether the option contains regular lug nuts, locking nuts or both.
- Count any mounted spare-wheel hardware separately and confirm its application.
- Check the selected finish, design and availability before adding the item to your cart.

For example, four wheels with five fasteners each require 20 fasteners; six per wheel require 24; eight per wheel require 32. These examples explain quantity only and do not confirm vehicle fitment. A combination set labeled 16 regular nuts plus 4 locking nuts contains 20 fasteners in total.
Keep fitment and installation together
Matching the thread designation alone is not enough. The wheel seat, dimensions, clearance and approved application also matter. Read why thread size alone does not establish fit.
Follow the instructions supplied with the product and the applicable vehicle and wheel manufacturer instructions. Threadstrong recommends hand installation and removal, with final tightening using a torque wrench to the vehicle manufacturer’s specified torque. See the installation and removal guide. Resolve conflicting instructions before installation.
